The picturesque Lakeland village of Bassenthwaite is only 2 miles
away.
Bassenthwaite Lake is ideal for those interested in watersports.
The Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is one mile, where you can hire or
launch a sailing dinghy. The lake is excellent for windsurfing and
canoeing or just relax on the lake shore enjoying the sun or a picnic.
Herdwick Croft is within 3 miles of Skiddaw and close to the Northern
fell of Binsey, so walkers have a good selection of walks on their
doorstep. The North Lakeland fells are renown for the quality and
variety of the walks from gentle strolls to epic day adventures!
Cockermouth golf course is only 2 miles away, there is horse riding
nearby and one mile away is a fitness centre complete with swimming
pool. Whinlatter forest is excellent for mountain biking with many
different forest trails around the woodland area. The property has
a river running through it so visitors keen on fishing should bring
their rods!
